Students at a middle school in Beverly Hills, California, used artificial intelligence technology to create fake nude photos of their classmates, according to school administrators. Now, the community is grappling with the fallout.
School officials at Beverly Vista Middle School were made aware of the “AI-generated nude photos” of students last week, the district superintendent said in a letter to parents. The superintendent told NBC News the photos included students’ faces superimposed onto nude bodies. The district did not share how it determined the photos were produced with artificial intelligence.
“It’s very scary, because people can’t feel safe to, you know, come to school,” a student at Beverly Vista Middle School who did not want to be identified told NBC Los Angeles. “They’re scared that people will show off, like, explicit photos.”
Beverly Hills Police Lt. Andrew Myers told NBC News that police responded to a call from the Beverly Hills Unified School District late last week and took a report about the incident. A noncriminal investigation is underway, Myers said. Because the investigation involves juveniles, Myers said, no further information can be shared.
The Beverly Hills case follows a series of similar incidents involving students’ creating and sharing AI-generated nude photos of their female classmates at high schools around the world. A New Jersey teen victim spoke about her experience in January in front of federal lawmakers in Washington, D.C., to advocate for a federal law criminalizing all nonconsensual sexually explicit deepfakes. No such federal law exists.
Home school them then. This is why people my age aren’t having kids anymore. The ones people, have are completely bonkers.

I wouldn’t wish to be the individual tasked with writing that law! Exactly where do you begin and end? An individual’s face superimposed on a risque 1920s-style boudoir photo? Or imposed on a Picasso nude or a photo Michelangelo’s statue of David?
Is it pornography at 30% of the body unclothed? 60%? 80%? 🤔
This AI technology will not easily go back in the proverbial “toothpaste tube”.😒
Am I wrong in imagining a dystopian future in which we all, wear half naqibs when in public (and, possibly even, when in private) just to shield our likenesses from misuse? 🤔
First it was actual nudes of students texted among each other, then it became “artistic” AI generated nude images of students texted…what is next? Smh
Of course laws and their punishment don’t deter crimes…if they did the registry would work, right? What deterrents should be applied to prevent these crimes against anyone of any age? If deterrents did work, then there would be no need for LE since everyone would be deterred and admit it. However, society and humans don’t work that way when it comes to matters like this. Those who want to find a way, they will to do what they want regardless.
Of course, the school could do an introductory legal briefing/gathering to each class to describe those things that are commonly seen during the school year and give the punishments within the school district and in the legal community related to each. Can’t say that works though given what is still seen at the service academies here who make it very well known.
Time to lockup all the kids and register them

Gee PP patrol, how are you going to continue the facade that every single sexual experience before the age of 16 is grave trauma? Oh, you’ll do fine. Just drag said kid(s) up on charges and shame him or her to no end until they ARE traumatized. That shame will be 1000% due to the prosecutors actions but that’s ok. This insanity is what needs to change. Organizations like RAINN will have a field day making all these teens and teens out to be victims as their organizations statement is that absolutely no one under the age of consent may consent to anything sexual, ever. I’m surprised that RAINN hasn’t infiltrated classrooms nationwide with court battles of sexual assault in the first degree to all these individuals masturbating for abusing themselves. We already have some nut trying a child for peeing outside his car. What a joke this country has become. The sad thing is these kids now have a record of a sexual misdeed in their past for what is normal behavior. Someday they might find someone using that to show a pattern of perversion to get them charged to be placed on some registry somewhere.

Pretty sure this is exactly what I was on about few weeks ago…school aged kids using classmates for Deep Fake porn! This is just the tip of the Himalayan Mountain Range to come…very soon.
As this technology becomes more available, and easier to use…hundreds of thousands if not millions made every single year… until something better comes along. All of it getting “out there” for people to buy, until it is copied so many times it becomes financially valueless, thus free.
Legislators are going to turn this into Fentanyl… let it ruin countless lives, while they continue to pander to People’s self righteousness by pursuing a fantasy where they get rid of it with cops, courts and jail. As always, America will choose to fail doing what we want, instead of even trying something that could work, but we hate.
Disposable Society…doesn’t matter who gets hurt, how many, or how while we choose to fail to prevent any of it. None of that matters, only thing that matters is our desire for revenge of pandered to.
We’ll lock up hundreds/thousands of people a year for making these pictures/videos, every year for the next… forever…. while the volume of pics/vids keeps getting bigger and bigger… the number of pics/vids getting made gets bigger and bigger… the number of people making them gets bigger and bigger… the number of kids unknowingly being used for them gets bigger and bigger… every single year…forever!
Yep, overcrowd the prisons with people we completely failed to prevent from making these Pics/vids…. then pretend that is success…forever!
I questioned months ago about this and got laughed at. Well, there it is.
I saw some AI-generated photos recently. Incredibly realistic! (No, nothing inappropriate.) It was fascinating how features could be changed, revised, edited & manipulated. The Courts are really going to have a mess to deal with regarding AI images, “deep fake” videos and audio recordings, false campaign ads, news stories, etc.
It’s going to be a real nightmare for them. 😖
God will the hysteria ever end?
